One cannot over-emphasize the importance of being an emotionally engaging, connected, and loving father to your Asian-American daughter.

All girls are hugely impacted by their fathers, and their paternal experiences can dictate their adult lives and relationships.

If Asian-American dads do not want their daughters to suffer from the debilitating effects of internalized racism that results from an early exposure to a Eurocentric media, they must take an active role in becoming the masculine figure they will subconsciously idolize and measure their future relationships against for the rest of their lives.

Being the confident, dependable, and loving anchor in their young lives will ensure that future Asian-American women do not exclude Asian-American men from their dating/marriage pool on the sole basis of internalized racism and self-hate.
